The Problem: Premium credit cards promise immense value, but banks count on “breakage”—benefits you pay for but forget to claim. From monthly dining credits to quarterly rebates, extracting value has become a complex chore.
The Solution: Enter Pointalize. We solve the “Coupon Book” problem by automating your wallet. No more spreadsheets or mental math—just a cohesive system designed to maximize your Return on Investment (ROI).
Why It Matters: Manual tracking is a nightmare. Spreadsheets don’t send push notifications before your credits expire. Pointalize removes the mental load, ensuring you never leave money on the table again.
The Story: I work a regular full-time job, so my free time for coding is pretty limited. I’ve always been frustrated by how hard it is to track membership perks and rewards (dining credits, travel offers, category multipliers). I was missing out on value simply because I forgot to use benefits I already had.
The Tech Stack: I built this using Flutter for cross-platform support. The real experiment was using Google Antigravity (the new agentic IDE). It didn’t write the app for me—I still had to architect the system—but it helped speed up the process significantly.
Feature Deep Dive: How Pointalize Works
The “Nearby” Merchant Map
One of our newest and most powerful features. Have you ever walked into a restaurant and wondered if it codes as “Dining” (4x points) or just “Shopping” (1x point)? Usage is simple: open the Nearby tab, and Pointalize uses your location to show verified merchant codes around you.
It tells you explicitly: “Use your Amex Gold here for 4x” or “Use your Chase Freedom Flex here for 5x.” This removes the guesswork from maximizing every transaction.
The Signup Bonus Tracker
The single most lucrative event in the credit card lifecycle is the Signup Bonus (SUB). A standard offer might be “Earn 80,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months.”
In the points world, 80,000 points can easily be worth $1,600+ if redeemed for international business class flights. Missing that bonus because you fell $50 short—or because you miscalculated the 90-day deadline—is a financial tragedy.

Recurring Benefit Management
This is the core of the app. Pointalize breaks down every single card in your wallet into its constituent perks. It knows that your Gold card has a dining credit that resets on the 1st of the month. It knows your Hotel card has a Free Night Award that expires in 12 months.
When you use a benefit, you simply tap to mark it as “Used.” Pointalize moves it to the bottom of the list and greys it out. When the reset date hits, the app automatically resets the status to “Available” and brings it back to the top of your feed.
Point Valuations Calculator
10,000 points are not created equal. 10,000 Hilton points might be worth $50, while 10,000 Hyatt points could be worth $200. The Point Valuations screen gives you live, market-based values for every major currency (Chase UR, Amex MR, Citi TYP, etc.).
Before you redeem, check the calculator to ensure you are getting at least the baseline value for your hard-earned rewards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Pointalize work offline?
Yes! Once you have added your cards, your wallet data is cached locally on your device. But not all functions work without network.
How do I reset a benefit manually?
In the Benefits tab, you can mark any credit as “Used” for the current period. The app will automatically reset it when the next period (month or year) begins.
What regions are supported?
We currently added card data for the United States and will work on more countries in the future.
How do you develop the app?
I develop the app in flutter to be able to deploy to iOS and Android at the same. And I do it all on my own.
